Purple Parasite

I have finally finished this little creature!

I've had this lovely piece of plume agate (black puffy clouds in milky white) sitting around for a couple of years - in fact it was one of the first cabs I ever purchased (from the family run www.DesignerCabochons.co.uk).

I set out to do this in black and white only, but it ended up purple as I also have some gorgeous merino roving that I wanted to use from www.treetopscolours.com.au

The spiderweb effect on the felt (I wet felted & needle felted the merino wool) is thanks to Stevie B - achieved via a can of gloss spray.

Other materials used are Faux Bone, copper sheet, microscrews, fine silver heishi & snow rings & silver oxidised cubes (all purchasedFair Trade from the Thai Karen Hill Tiribes), shoe polish, plastic aquarium plant, tiny beads and thread.
Can be worn as a pendant or brooch.

Length: approx 21cm (9 inches)
Width: approx 15cm (6 inches)

This is so beautiful I love it. I love the designs you make, so much fun.

To get a similar colour from nature, I would use blackberries. I have listed some blogs that are good for eco dyes and sharing methods as a reply to your comments. I think you will like the links, they are similar in vive to Yvette who is a real sweet heart xJ

Thank you! And thanks Jasmine - I'm off to have a look! Problem is I would probably eat all the blackberries before they made it into the pot...

Thanks Yvette & Grrl.

I can't take credit for the photo - I had it taken by Katrina Jons from Accent Photography (as I am submitting it to a competition and photographs weren't allowed to be 'Photoshopped' - so all my photos sucked).

Sounds interesting Grrl!!!! As long as its not another preschooler? My email is vicky@GingaSquid.com
