Most recent handspun Art Yarns...

I've been having a relaxing time recently with my Majacraft Pioneer spinning wheel - getting some practice in! Doing coils, supercoils & 'granny' coils (!) with a bit of corespinning and also add-ins such as pompoms. These are my latest yarns - all on the huge/super bulky scale of things!

I wish I could spin all day - but 'interesting' things happen when my wheel is left unattended for periods longer than 10 seconds - my kiddies think its a racing car as it has 2 pedals.

I bought an Ashford drum carder a while ago & now need to spend some time getting to know it better & feed it some interesting fibers (or small children).

That is just wacky wool!

Now go back to GPB and have a look down the side menu until you get to two stand up tall tea cosies with orange fringe around the spouts. Twin tea cosies, called Sleeveless in Seattle. So... it's been done AND there might be something a little 'armless in the new book also. But that is all hush hush.

No Mr Ginga?! Then very good Christmas cheer to you and your family, however it is spread with love.

OMG Loani - those babies are so cool, esp the orange fringes!
I'm awaiting your new book (and will surely finish my Ostrich from your fab previous one sometime in 2010.....).

A Merry Xmas to you too! :)

I'm lovin those yarns you are a seriously quick learner I think. I have just got my jumbo flyer but she had no bobbins so I will still have to wait! You have a superb eye for colour.

Thanks Pam!
I think its just because I haven't reached the stage where I can spin an even balanced single yet - these ones all start from an overspun single, which I can do no probs as I overspin everything!

What spinning wheel do you have?
